Shadow of the Hawk (1997)
The shadow of the hawk rises and falls as the landscape gently undulates beneath it. One moment it is indistinct and unfocused, the next it snaps quickly into view as the ground rises.

A rocky outcrop lurches up towards the sky – the shadow is suddenly crystal clear. Slowly, it slides away again as the hills recede, and the hawk ascends back into the sky.

Kembang Suling (1995)
1. On the magical island of Bali, the flowing gamelan melody intertwines with the sound of the Balinese bamboo flute (suling) forming a rich and colourful tapestry.

2. The haunting sounds of the Japanese flute (shakuhachi ) float out over the warm echoes of the rolling landscape.

3. Complex rhythms and South Indian scales set the two instruments off in a race to see who can outplay the other.

Sepuluh Jari (1996)
Extract from a recently discovered letter of J.S. Bach -

…and so here it is, my recently completed toccata, Sepulah Jari - it means 'ten fingers' in the native language here on the island of Bali.

From Forgotten Forests (1994)
A walk in an ancient forest inhabited by extinct birds, resounding with their unfamiliar, and long-forgotten calls.

Cadenza (1993)
1. The remote control.
2. The derivation of musical wisdom.
3. The game show.
4. The rachenitza.
